Nikolay Volkov (Saint-Petersburg) and Lyubov Dobrovolskaya (Togliatti) won Perm Marathon
Perm Marathon main runs were held on September 4, 2022. The 42.195 km distance leader results were 02:16:19 (men) and 02:38:42 (women). The winners received prizes from the Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin.
The marathon distances started at different times, with the first track of 10,5 km gathering 2896 registered participants. This was followed by special 200-meter distance for wheelchair users.
At 10:00 the start was given for marathon, semi-marathon runners and the new discipline – 10.5 km relay.
Vladimir Nikitin from Perm became the absolute winner in 21.5 km distance; he is a famous Russian athlete renown for a number of national records and winner of Russia’s Athletics Cup. He says the weather conditions were difficult because of the strong cold wind, an in general the Perm track was not a simple one. The semi-marathon distance leader Elena Korobkina from Moscow Region is the Honoured Master of Sports, 2015 Europe’s champion in 3,000 meter distance and numerous prize-winner of Russian competitions.
The Perm Marathon main prizes in 42.195 km track were given to Russian Champion in long-distance running Nikolay Volkov from (Saint-Petersburg) and athlete Lyubov Dobrovolskaya from Togliatti, both first-time participants of the Perm Marathon.
– For two days the residents and numerous guests of the city followed the events and shared lots of emotion of a great festival. The Perm Marathon medal features its symbol animal – fearless and fast wolverine, and each runner in their distance has fully demonstrated these qualities. I would like to thank all the guests for positive emotions, energy and enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing you here in 2023! Next year, Perm City Anniversary year , the marathon will be way more exciting ! – said Aleksey Demkin addressing the participants and visitors of the marathon .
In addition, the prizes were handed to the relay runners. This new discipline of the Perm Marathon was won by the team of Perm Region Athletics Federation.
Perm Marathon-2022 gathered over 11,000 participants from 350 cities of Russian and Belarus.
